Jocelyn Filley is a photographer on Martha’s Vineyard who creates candid imagery with an editorial touch. With every assignment Jocelyn is given, be it a wedding, family portrait or cookbook, there is a universal theme of seeking out beauty, joy and light. A practice of gratitude that proves, and reminds us of the good in life.

Born on Martha's Vineyard at the end of summer vacation, the island has always felt like home to Jocelyn. She, too, was married here. Jocelyn appreciates the opportunity to celebrate both the beauty of the island and the important moments that take place here.

Like the film photograph Jocelyn has from her parents at their wedding, she seeks to create imagery rooted in the unpredictable moments of the day. Ensuring traditional photographs and putting thought into the preparations, while making space to observe the imperfect moments. Those that often hold the most magic.
surrendering to the nature of the moment
Tapping into her wide array of knowledge and using the medium required by the moment, Jocelyn utilizes film and digital photography to create breathtaking imagery. Infusing natural light as much as possible to produce an organic, and undeniably appealing look.

She went on to receive a BA in photojournalism from UNC at Chapel Hill with her documentary work resulting in multiple awards. Upon graduating, she followed her love of visual storytelling into weddings.
